Challenge

The project had two primary goals: to build public trust in scientific research and to inspire younger generations by showing how early passions for science can lead to fulfilling careers. I developed scalable workflows and led cross-functional teams to research, design, and build the site.

Solution

I led a multidisciplinary team to design and develop the Discover Discovery website, starting with user research to ensure stakeholder and scientist voices shaped the strategy. We implemented a modular CMS for flexibility, enabling the Aspen Institute to manage and evolve the platform independently. The final design balanced visual appeal with functionality, featuring intuitive navigation and dynamic elements to enhance user engagement.

The launch transformed how the Aspen Institute and its scientists shared their stories, inspiring excitement by sharing their joy of discovery and learning.

Reflections

From the initial survey to the final deliverables, the process was seamless and well-executed, reflecting the experience I've gained over the years. This project allowed me to flex both as a designer and project manager. Collaborating with scientists highlighted the challenges they face in reaching a broader audience, and our team was excited to leverage our collective expertise to help bridge that gap.
